German Brand Award for HIMA brand relaunch

The German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung) has awarded the brand image of the Brühl-based family-owned company HIMA a winner at the German Brand Award in Berlin. In the “Industry Excellence in Branding” category, the new look is one of the best brand strategies in Germany. The new logo, the design and the new positioning “Smart Safety” were developed together with the communication agency Callies & Schewe from Mannheim.

“Brand management is now central to success in business-to-business. The jury’s award confirms our path,” says Dirk Bolz, Director Global Marketing at HIMA. The company specializes in safety-related automation technology, which is used in chemical plants or trains, for example. HIMA is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year.

Brand for digital transformation

“We are happy that we could give the Hidden Champion HIMA such a concise face. The quality of the company’s external image reflects its innovative strength and quality standards,” says Sebastian Callies, Managing Director of Callies & Schewe Kommunikation. The agency is focused on brand management in the age of digital transformation.

The award for successful brand management

The German Brand Award is the award for successful brand management in Germany. It discovers, presents and awards unique brands and brand makers. Only companies nominated by the German Brand Institute, its brand scouts and expert committees can take part in the competition. The independent jury consists of leading brand experts and scientists. The German Design Council was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag by the Federation of German Industries and several leading companies as a foundation. It is intended to strengthen the understanding of design in business and society. More than 300 domestic and foreign companies currently belong to the circle of founders of the German Design Council.
