Callies & Schewe moves into Villa Grün

Mannheim, February 23, 2012. New clients, new business segments and revenue growth of almost 70 percent: 2011 was a great year for Callies & Schewe. The Mannheim-based communications agency is preparing for further growth and has moved into new premises in the venerable Villa Grün.

After three years, the office space in Mannheim’s startup center Mafinex had become too small. “We are happy to clear space for the next startups. This is the start of a new chapter in our company history,” says Managing Director Kim Schewe.

The office space with over 400 square meters in the villa built in 1905 in Mannheim’s Oststadt district, has been renovated and converted in recent weeks – with help from the Mannheim-based interior design firm Institut für Raumfreiheit. “The result is an inspiring space which unites the past and future. High ceilings, a lot of room and a unique character – an ideal workshop for ideas,” says Managing Director Sebastian Callies. The name of the building also fits the agency’s brand identity; after all, its logo is a green torch. The move from the Lindenhof district to the Oststadt district is also a commitment to Mannheim. “The city has a creative diversity you would otherwise only see in metropolises like Berlin or Hamburg. Added to this is the number of third-level institutions, which are educating more and more people for creative and media jobs. For us as a young company, moving away was out of the question,” emphasizes Managing Director Sebastian Callies.

Since its establishment in 2008, the agency, which specializes in B2B communication, has enjoyed dynamic growth. Callies & Schewe supports renowned technology companies like SAP or the Indian IT service provider Tata Consultancy Services with its national and international marketing and PR activities. The agency now employs 10 full-time staff and over 40 freelancers in strategy consulting, project management, copywriting, design and programming.

The two founders and their young team now plan to continue this success story at their new premises on Mollstrasse. The agency will continue to invest, not only in modifying the office space, but also in the technical infrastructure, additional personnel and its own series of events.
