Your click for Togo: Our Christmas charity initiative
Togo is one of the poorest countries in the world.
More than half of the population earns less than two dollars a day. The women have it especially hard: they run the household and are often also the breadwinners. Lena Diekhans, a student from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, is assisting the women of Togo with a unique project. Her initiative brings in agricultural experts to share their knowledge and tips on sustainable farming, paving the way to economic independence for the women. Here at Callies & Schewe, we are contributing our marketing expertise to the project and have organised a Christmas donation campaign.
We are sending out personalised emails to inform our customers and business partners about the initiative. Included in each email is a link to the website – for each addressee who clicks the link, we will automatically donate five euros in their name.
The website is full of delightful little surprises, and tells an interactive story in three chapters. When a specified donation level is reached, the next chapter of the story goes online. The website provides an understanding of the situation in Togo, and visitors can scroll through to learn about the individual aid measures in a fun way. We have also created a Facebook page and blog for the project.
